Synopsis
Sakay sa Hangin (Wind-blown), literally “riding the wind,” shows a slice of the Philippines’ rich indigenous culture with this story about a peaceful tribal musician with a mission to heal and inspire people towards determining a long-lost cultural identity. Sakay sa Hangin (Wind-blown) focuses on the life of a peaceful tribal man in Bukidnon, Mindanao. A Talaandig master player and maker of traditional musical instruments, he has a family of seven to support and a world in decay to save. Guided by his dreams, he starts a contagious tune to heal the land and to inspire the lost children-of-the-tribe in our hearts back to the flow of natural law.

Regiben O. Romana, visual artist and independent filmmaker, has also been conducting filmmaking workshops at the Mowelfund Film Institute for eight years. With six short films and a full length film to his credit, he has also co-directed music videos and directed the photography of ten mainstream films. While passionately documenting the underground music scene for the past 20 years, Regiben has also done numerous documentaries, including “Basal Banar” and “Memories of a Forgotten War”.
