Kids at my Works by Chriseo Sipat

Kids at my Works, Chriseo Sipat's second one-man exhibition, will be on view at Art Verite starting September 11, 2010.

The show features Sipat's portraits of children. A tribute the playful humor of the young, Sipat's portraits for this show consistently combine realism and exaggeration: heads are enlarged like cartoon characters, yet features are captured in all precise and painstaking detail. The artist produced an entire series of works capturing the fleeting and innocent gestures and pursuits of childhood, holding on to reminiscence and hope.

Chriseo Sipat won the Grand Prize at the 2005 Metrobank Art and Design Excellence competition. He was also a Finalist for the Metrobank Young Painters Annual in 1997 and 2001, the Philippine Art Awards in 1996 and 1997, and the 2005 AAP Annual Art Competition (Honorable Mention). Sipat earned his Fine Arts degree, major in Advertising, from the Technological University of the Philippines.  He organized his first solo exhibition, God Bless Noypi, in 2007 at Laguna's Ninevah Artspace. He is a member of the Anting-Anting art group.

Kids at my Works runs from September 11 to 25, 2010  at Art Verite' Gallery, located at 2C-05 2/F Shops at Serendra, Bonifacio High Global, Taguig City. For inquiries, contact the gallery at +632 9151982.
