‘SUPRA’ by Florence M. Cinco

‘SUPRA’ is a Sanskrit word which means ‘beyond’. This is the concept of which this Missionary Artist, FLORENCE M. CINCO defines his artworks in this exhibit. He attributes his artworks to the Supreme Being who unceasingly love every form of creature beyond the world’s understanding. This is what inspires him to continue creating pieces of art to express this divine love so that others too may be touched by the wonders of walking through the path of bliss.

Devoted in his mission to revive the old culture of the great Maharlika, Cinco uses his Art to fulfill this lifelong task. ‘SUPRA’ speaks highly of the beauty and richness of our roots so that all the art works are created with great passion and expressed in contemporary style to blend with the hues of the new era. Junk metal and bolts, which represent God and light, with found objects, are the primary materials used in the creation of all the pieces.

‘SUPRA’ is one of the artist’s ways of speaking his strong conviction to preserve and promote our own root race – naturally spiritual, deeply connected with nature, and brave and fearless in defending the motherland. ‘SUPRA’ is a call to take pride of our own identity – noble and great people!

Cinco’s ‘SUPRA’ will be launched on Friday, October 15, 2010 at Galerie Astra, 2/F the Art Pavilion LRI Business Center, 210 Nicanor Garcia St. (formerly Reposo St.) Makati City, telephone no. (632) 890-3988.  The show will last until October 28, 2010.
