Behind the Curtain at Kaida

kaida galleryKaida Contemporary Gallery presents Behind the Curtain, a group exhibition by a crop of promising Fine Arts students from Far Eastern University.  Kim Sulit, Jobert Cruz, Mark Bardinas, Rolf Campos, and Teo Esguerra unveil notions of concealment and exposure as they depict images on canvas and mixed media, ranging from religious iconography with layered manipulations of paint and fabric to comic illustrations of the macabre, confrontational portraits of real individuals, focused attention into putrefaction and disease, and even framed groupings of objects of significance to the artist.

Whether they are concepts that are kept concealed, covered, and held in secret in the deepest corners of an artist’s mind, or blatant delineations of reality, Behind the Curtain is an opportunity to witness the disclosure of truth, art and lies, leading us to ponder upon our assumptions, beliefs and fears.

Curated by Noell El Farol, Behind the Curtain opens on July 24, Sunday and will be exhibited up to August 10, 2011. Kaida Contemporary Gallery is located at 36 Scout Santiago corner Scout De Guia St., Quezon City.  For more details, please contact 4144777 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
