With the camera or paintbrush, our painting group aims to capture our subjects in their stillness in different art forms.

A still life - being a picture of inanimate objects. Common still life objects include vessels, food, flowers, books, & clothing. A sense of serenity in such objects may be produced.

A landscape - being a painting, photograph, or other work of art which depicts a peaceful scenery such as mountains, valleys, trees, rivers, & forests. Invariably, some sky is included in the scene. One may experience a certain calmness in viewing it.

A waterscape - being a painting or picture of a body of water. Even in the water movement of a quiet brook or stream, a gushing waterfall, one may find tranquility.

A figure - being a photograph or artwork illustrating the form of a human, an animal,, or a thing but most often referring to an entire human form captured at a certain position or angle. Therefore, freezing it from further motion.

BE STILL is trusting God and seeing Him as your Friend, your counselor, your Provider, your Lover, and more. It is in having The Creator's "peace that passes all (human) understanding" in the midst of of your unrest or trauma and not in their absence. It is relying on the blessed fact that The Lord is sovereign or in control amidst chaos. cf. (Psalm 46:10)
