8 SHOWS AT NINEVEH ARTSPACE

nineveh artspaceOn its 8th year anniversary, Nineveh Artspace in Villa Silangan, Sta. Cruz, Laguna holds eight shows from November 27 to December 15, 2011. Artists are:

“3rd World Menagerie” (Don Salubayba, Rolf Campos and Brendale Tadeo);
CCP 13 Artist awardee Salubayba teams up with young artists from Zambales,
Campos and Tadeo, in this playful and whimsical portrayal of barnyard animals.
Complementing the show is a performance of “Imperio Animalia” by the Sipat Lawin Ensemble, Theater Company of Philippine High School for the Arts (PHSA).

“Pinapelan” (Rene Cuvos);
Hyper-realist painter Cuvos demonstrates his versatility as he takes on paper as medium in setting up an art installation. He is a Cavite-based full-time artist.


“Social Animals” (Caloy Gernale);
Airbrush master Gernale depicts social realities on canvas, employing various animals as metaphor.  This is the 8th solo show of this Cavite-based full-time artist.

“Pasada” (Bon Mujeres)
Metrobank awardee Mujeres returns to the art scene after a 2-year hiatus with a show of  oil works of people in transit.  He’s a full-time artist based in Las Pinas City.

“Tawo” (Sam Penaso)
Full-time visual and performance artist Penaso exhibits large-scale acrylic portraits, distinctive for incorporating embossed figures.  He practices his craft in Manila.

“Peligro” (Archie Ruga);
Ruga of Kalye Kolektib (w/c counts among its members Alfredo Esquillo Jr) holds his 1st solo,amazing for its extraordinary subjects and excellence in craftsmanship.

“Magnum Opus” (Salvador Sierra);
This 1st solo exhibit of Bulacan-based multi-awarded Sierra shows his excellent handling of works in acrylic as also his eye for color and the beauty of Nature.

“Rizal @ 150” (UPLB Painters Club);
Selected students and alumni of UP Los Banos mount this show to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of national hero,Jose Rizal. This also complements its annual show.

All 8 exhibits run until December 15 and are curated by CCP 13 Artist Awardee Noel Soler Cuizon.
