Angelo Ortiz, a World champion Pianist of the 2006 WCOPA (World Championship of Performing Arts), is performing an all Spanish Classical repertoire entitled “Variaciones Classicas Espanolas – piano de concierto” at the Meralco Theatre on January 30, 2010 at 7:30pm.

Entitled “Variaciones” or “Variations”, Angelo will be playing variations of famous Spanish classical works from different Spanish Suites such as Suite Andalucia, Suite Espanola, Carmen Suite 1 and other classical selections by De Falla, Lecuona, Albeniz and Rodrigo.

Angelo’s repertoire will also consist of the famous piano solos – Malaguena, Gitanerias, Leyenda, Tango, Granada, Cordoba and Concierto Aranjuez – with a new twist and innovation in its music.

“Most of the pieces that I will be playing are originally for solo piano performances only. But, we have arranged it to be more grandiose and placed ‘variations’ on the original melodies” cited Angelo.

The concert will also feature American Saxophonist Dr. Michael Young, classical artists Paolo Alcantara and Lowell Lalic. He will also be performing with Banda 31, a wind symphony orchestra composed of all youthful gifted musicians with artists that range from 8 to 25 years old, and will be conducted by Michael Jacinto.

Not only this concert features the best and the youngest amongst classical performers, but the concert stage itself will be accompanied by modern aura of lights, and different stage set-ups that will surely give a new meaning and approach on classical concerts.
