Sofia dubbed the fresh voice of bossa continues to prove herself worthy of the tag with a new album compilation of classic pop and love songs done in that elegant bossanova style.

The new CD entitled SOFIA: BY REQUEST LITE & EASY is a reconfigured album, whose songs were culled from Sofia’s two previous albums namely the Gold record certified Bossa Latino Lite and the follow up In Love With Nova Bossa.  This album includes bossafied versions of Don Mclean’s Birthday Song, England Dan and John Ford Coley’s “Sad To Belong”, Janet Jackson’s Let’s Wait Awhile, Billy Joel’s Just The Way You Are, Dusty Springfield’s The Look Of Love , Cole Porter’s Night & Day plus Sorry Doesn’t Make It Anymore, I’ll Take Care Of You, I’ll Never Fall In Love Again, What A Wonderful World, It’s Too Late and So Nice (Samba De Verao) Sofia also duets with R&B singers Thor on Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, and Roji Soriano Breaking Up Is Hard To Do, Blue Moon and last but not the least the only original track in the compilation Warm Impressions.

Sofia continues to turn on listeners to her brand of bossa with her warm singing voice, charm and allure and it also helps that the young bossa singer is a talented multi-instrumentalist, playing finger-style acoustic guitar, some violin, and the traditional Irish drum called the bohdrun.  Sofia is currently promoting her new album.

Sofia was “accidentally” discovered by Ivory music when she sung Desafinado as a demo for Ivory’s bossa concept album.  She was tapped to make an album after her impressive version of the Antonio Carlos Jobim classic. She then went on to record “Waters Of March” and has played with and met her idols Flora Purim, Bob Basa, Airto Moreira in her current journey as a recording and performing bossanova artist. Sofia is also a licensed medical technologist and is a “galloner” for having regularly donated blood for the red cross.
