Even before the airing of ABS-CBN’s I Love Betty La Fea, so much has been written and talked about. Initially, it was the question of who is the lucky gal who plays the plum role of Betty. Next was the anticipation on who will essay the role of Armando. Announcements were finally made and the show aired, with the viewers getting hooked by the day. Everyone in the cast of I Love Betty La Fea is surely getting his/her own moment and is reaping positive feedback from viewers. With this, ABS-CBN Star Magic is very happy for its artists who are part of Betty La Fea. They are Megan Young, Wendy Valdez, Joem Bascon, Jayson Gainza, Randolf Stamatelaky and Thou Reyes.

Megan Young, the statuesque mestiza, plays the role of Marcella. Her beauty and acting is finally being noticed as she essays the character of a spoiled and domineering young woman who is caught between her sister Daniella and the love of her life Armando. When she moved to ABS-CBN, she became part of the youth-oriented show Abt Ur Luv and the hit teleserye Kokey. She entered the Pinoy Big Brother house to be on of the housemates in the reality show’s second celebrity edition. Much as Megan hopes to play “nice girl” roles, she had no qualms in accepting the role of Marcella as she considers it a very good opportunity to show her talent in acting.

Wendy Valdez is Patricia Suarez, the other secretary of Armando Solis out to make life hell for Betty. Wendy is a native of Navotas and works very hard as she is her family’s breadwinner. She tried working abroad to earn more for her family, did commercials, and joined the Binibining Pilipinas. She auditioned for Pinoy Dream Academy, Deal or No Deal’s 26K and Wowowee but was finally given the chance when chosen to be one of the housemates in the second Pinoy Big Brother. She starred in the teleserye Margarita and was one of the casts of Young Song: “One More Chance” and Palos. As she plays contravida in I Love Betty La Fea, her initial fear that she will be hated by the viewers but thankfully, feedback shows that her character is well-liked and is considered an effective tandem with Betty.

Joem Bascon’s character, Mario Collantes, is one of the executives of Ecomoda and is the best friends of Armando Solis. Mario has been in Ecomoda even before Armando and both are womanizers. Mario is such a bad influence in the entertainment scene because of his supposed resemblance to Piolo Pascual. This is very flattering for Joem but he is working hard to have his own identity. He is very visible in the indie film arena. His first film was Batanes where he was names Breakthrough Performance by an actor in the Golden Screen Awards and he will soon play the lead in another indie film, Walang Hanggang Paalam. He will also be seen in Adela and another film that will be shot in the Spratlys with a Thai actor. Joem is also part of Hush Hush of TV5.

Randolf Stamatelaky has a very unusual last name which is why is known as “the new actor in search of a last name”. Ever since he entered showbiz, many people have advised him to change his last name as the one he is using is a quite difficult to remember. But then again, it might also be his last name that makes him unique and will leave a mark with the audience. Randolf is one-eight Greek as his paternal grandfather is pure Greek. He won a model search in 2002 and started doing commercial of a popular food chain that recently had a cheeseburger campaign. Randolf took up nursing but realized that he would rather do something else. In I Love Betty La Fea, Randolf plays the role of Randy, one of the employees of Ecomoda.

Jayson Gainza placed first runner-up or the Second Big Placer in the first Big Night of Pinoy Big Brother. He is known for his knack comedy, on and off0cam. His co-stars in I Love Betty La Fea say that to be in scene with Jayson is a sure laughing trip. Jayson was just supposed to be a guest in the teleserye but because his no effective in his role, his character has been retained and will be seen for a longer time. Jayson is Adolfo Robles; the HR Head who will go for looks more than credentials. In fact, he was so against hiring Betty because he prepared the beautiful and flirty Patricia. He was last seen in Volta but was also part of Kung Fu Kids and Lastikman. Jayson is still one of the hosts of the travel shoe Trip na Trip and will soon be seen in Parekoy. He is also in the movie One Nite Only and has a regular stint for Touch Mobile’s provincial sorties.

Thou Reyes is such a revelation in I Love Betty La Fea as Hugo Bosini. People easily noticed his funny and catty portrayal of Hugo, the creative mind behind Aco Moda Manila. He is might have a little hesitation on playing a gay role since admittedly, he is not yet known so people might think that he is a gay. However, a professional that he is, he is out to prove that he is just portraying a role. What makes it doubly difficult though is the fact that his gay character is closely related to Daniella, played by Ruffa Gutierrez, Tough’s crush.  Their characters connive to make life difficult for Betty. Tough considers the role of Hugo as a very good break. He has learned to appreciate his character more which is he his giving it his all. It looks like it is paying off has viewers noticed him and looks forward to scenes of Hugo.
