We know girls want to be with them and guys want to be them because of their finely-chiseled bodies. But how much do we really know about the all-male group The Studs? It's no secret that they have some of the best bodies in showbusiness, but the real secret is, how did they achieve such perfection?

Take Coco Martin, for example. People know him for being a permanent fixture of the indie film scene, but they also know him for having a great body. What's his secret? “Two times a week kasi ako kung mag-exercise,” he reveals. “Hindi ako nagdi-diet, but kumakain ako ng maraming fish at vegetables. I also try to get as much sleep as I can, because siyempre the body needs to rest every once in a while.”

“I'm very proud of my abs, but I'd like to spend some time on my legs,” he adds. “They could do with a little improvement.”

He says that if one wants a great body, one should try to work out regularly and supplement one's workout with a healthy diet.

StarStruck graduate Dion Ignacio agrees with him. “Kailangan mag-exercise, maybe three times a week kung may oras. Plus kailangan siyempre ng discipline to stick with such an exercise program. Maganda rin kung may diet plan ka, kasi importante rin yun.”

Dion says he exercises three times a week and plays basketball with his friends during his days off. “I target specific areas of my body, tulad ng abs at arms ko,” he says. “Masaya naman na ako sa biceps ko, kaya right now I want to focus on my legs, my back and my chest.”

Like Coco, he doesn't follow a strict diet plan. “I eat what I want to eat,” he says. “I eat a normal meal.”

Dion also believes in rewarding himself after a good workout. “I go to the spa. Sometimes nagpapa-sauna rin ako,” he laughs.

Like Dion, Edgar Allan Guzman also believes in the power of the spa. “Nagpapa-body massage ako pagkatapos ng workout,” he says. “I do circuit training kasi. I like my shoulders, pero gusto ko pa ayusin yung abs ko.” He also plays basketball in his spare time, which he believes goes a long way toward keeping himself in shape.

Edgar's baby-faced good looks and great body—who can resist those pecs?—won him the Mr. Pogi title on the daily noontime variety show Eat Bulaga some time ago. His advice to those who want to follow in his footsteps? “Siyempre kailangan mo mag-workout. Kailangan mo din ng discipline para masundan mo yung workout plan mo.”

Young actor Felix Roco—whose latest project is a role on the current season of Daisy Siete—emphasizes the importance of a balanced diet in keeping oneself fit. “Ako may sinusundang diet,” he says. “Oo, I exercise two to three times a week. Pero kung hindi matino ang diet mo, wala ring magiging effect yung exercise. So para sa akin, importante talaga na meron kang healthy diet plan.”

Of the fruits of his labor—as far as exercise is concerned, anyway—Felix says he is most proud of his legs. “They're the strongest part of my body,” he shares. “But I'd like for my abs to be the same. I want to have abs!”

According to TV host JC Cuadrado, people like Felix—those who want to improve certain parts of their body—would do well to master the basics of circuit training. “They'll be a big help,” he promises. “Determination is also important.”

JC works out two to three times a week. “I do cardio and I lift weights,” he says. He's also a martial arts enthusiast, which is why he's in such great shape.

However, JC is still not satisfied with his belly. “It's so big!” he exclaims.

To avoid a similar fate, StarStruck winner Mike Tan works out two to four times a week with a fitness trainer. “Depende sa trainer ko kung gaano kami kadalas mag-workout,” he says. “I'm most proud of my upper body, but I wish I had great abs, kaya gusto ko muna mag-focus sa area na yun.”

Mike also says that he follows a strict diet plan. “I eat oatmeal for breakfast,” he shares. “Kung gusto mo naman ng magandang katawan makukuha mo—you just have to want it bad enough.”
