Its not everyday that you come across a band with the name like Six Part Invention. But that phrase is exactly what the band’s leader, Rey, chose to call his group. Initially composed of six members and now are down to four, Six Part Invention or SPI makes a fresh entry into the recording scene with the release of their new album entitled, “Songs Of D-Votion”. The album’s title is such primarily because all songs in the album are in the key of “D”.

The new album features 10 original songs all penned by Rey. There is an instrumental track in the album which brings the track count to 11, and there are also four bonus tracks. On top of all the audio offerings, the album also includes the music video of the carrier single entitled Falling In Love (Director: Genghis Jimenez) .

Primetime teleserye fans will be able to associate the carrier single Falling In Love with the top-rated drama “Agua Bendita”, for it is in scenes where the two lead roles meet that the song is aptly used as their “love theme”.

But there are more reasons why one should get a copy of the album , which is due out in stores anytime soon. While it is tempting to allow one to discover the other songs on their own , we’ll let you in on what are the other choice tracks : be one of the first to hear the songs Pangarap na Mahal, Never Letting Go, Till The End & Pagtatanong.

The band’s members are Rey Cantong on guitar and lead vocals, Kaye Malana on lead vocals, Tag Cantong on drums & percussion instruments, and Andy dela Cruz on bass guitar. Rey is also the album’s producer & song arranger for all tracks in the album.
