Rodolfo Biescas, Iron mate

Rodolfo BiescasStarted off as a public school teacher in the 70s, Rodolfo Biescas has now about a dozen  patented inventions at hand just because he saw a need…  and wanted to do something about it.

Being exposed in teaching and electronics for several years, it led Rodolfo to look at solutions to the problems surrounding him. “So pag may nakita akong problema, dun ako nagsisimulang gumawa ng solution.” (so when I see a problem, that is the time I start to creating a solution) said Rodolfo.

He started off with what he calls, “air ionizer”. The problem: Pollutants in enclosed areas. Though there are commercial products available that solves these problems, they miss out one thing, pollutants that remain on the walls and ceilings. What happened was the air just circulates around the room, not cleaning it. Rodolfo was able to solve this problem with this invention. The air ionizer was able to clean the air including the pollutants that have been stuck on the wall for some time that made him earned his patent.

He also has a car ionizer. Car aircon releases carbon dioxide that can be harmful to the passenger, especially to the driver. Now that lpg taxis are a big hit among taxi drivers, the car ionizer can help clean the air that can prevent sicknesses and harmful chemicals entering the body of the passengers and the driver.

But he doesn’t stop there, one problem that Rodolfo has his eye on is the electric flat iron in every household. Not only that, Rodolfo added, “One of the main causes of fire in Filipino households is caused by flat irons. Mothers tend to leave their flat irons on while doing other household chores, thus causing overheating, fire and sometimes death.”

Rodolfo said, “My invention, the iron mate, will serve as an energy saver and a safety device all rolled into one!”

Ordinarily, when using a flat iron, whether it is at rest or being used in ironing, the electricity kept on running. The consumption will continue not unless you turn it off.

But with iron mate, Rodolfo’s invention, when you are not using your flat iron, whether you are fixing the clothes or turning it over, the electricity consumption stops but preserves the heat of the iron. Thus, cutting your electricity bill into half and even if you forgot about it, it will not cause any trouble.

"when you are not using your flat iron, whether you are fixing the clothes or turning it over, the electricity consumption stops but preserves the heat of the iron. Thus, cutting your electricity bill into half and even if you forgot about it, it will not cause any trouble."

This happens when you place your iron on top of the iron mate. The electricity current stops. It's that simple. So it saves energy and prevents fire at the same time.

We are currently assisting Rodolfo Biescas by displaying the Iron Mate at our booth whenever we join exhibits or trade fairs. Mr. Biescas gave a special discounted price for this. We have an upcoming exhibit in SMX Convention Center from October 5-8, 2011 under the wing of MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY 2011. You can visit us there and purchase the product. See you there!
